Rebranding Supercar Show OC

Southern California’s car culture is booming, and no weekend is short of automotive events to attend, but LSX LLC new client Newport Beach Automotive Group has been ahead of the game.  Celebrating supercar owners and car fans alike every first Saturday of the month for more than six years, the show has come to be known around the country as Supercar Show OC.  While the foundation has been put down and the monthly event is in demand and attendance is no problem, the team at LSX LLC was given the opportunity to make the show feel like a brand.

For six years, the show has taken place in the Lamborghini showroom parking lot, but for the first time this past May, owners and attendees were welcomed into the all-new Supercar Show OC. The show Fueled by Fans. While no rebrand happens over night, the team at LSX LLC has started working on long term strategic partnerships for the monthly car show to add a lifestyle component. An early morning car show requires excellent coffee partners, and unique businesses such as other forms of transportation, automotive accessories, driving shoes, and more to entertain the clientele of a luxury automotive dealership.  While the show always made supercar owners and clients feel special by providing a VIP lounge including breakfast, LSX LLC decided to incorporate entertainment.  By bringing in watch partners, such as Roger Dubuis the corporate sponsor of Lamborghini Squadra Corse, or even driving shoe brands, owners now have another element to check out and form conversation over.  The VIP lounge also gives LSX LLC the opportunity to display hot new vehicles, as well as a place to create a luxury lifestyle feeling.

Since taking over the production of the event, LSX LLC immediately got to work on giving the show a digital presence.  With hundreds of car spotters in attendance, snapping their cameras and posting away the show needed an Instagram handle for attendees to tag.  From Instagram, the digital footprint grew into a Facebook page as well as it’s own website; all instantly recognizable with the show logo across all platforms.  Inspired by a checkered flag seen at the finish of every automotive race, the logo is black and white, emulating simplicity.  Not to mention the usability between black and white on branding materials to make the logo pop. For example, the logo is now used on coffee cups, napkins, breakfast trays, a step and repeat, as well as staff clothing including a polo as well as a ball cap.  Also making it’s way from the digital world to apparel is the show hashtag, #FueledByFans.  Other event hashtags include #SupercarShowOC and #SSOC.  Outside of the VIP lounge branding can be found as well.  Upon entering the event, supercar owners drive between two towering branded flags, and are then asked to check in under a branded tent, where merchandise is also available for purchase. Depending on the theme of the month, such as “Racing for Summer” or “Porsche Pitstop” attendees can check out extreme examples of vehicles that fit the theme in front of a 40 foot branded wall.  From the branded wall, the cars sit on top of a flooring material commonly found in garages that subtly resembles a checkered flag as well.

The car show that has been known to Southern California for more than six years is only just getting started with the new look!  The team at LSX LLC can’t wait for the summer to come and to show the public what they have been working on.  To check out Supercar Show OC’s digital presence, take a look at the following: Facebook, Instagram, Website.
